Everything about The Chocolate Game totally explained
The chocolate game is a
game often played at
children's
parties, originating in
Germany.
Items needed
Setting up the game
The bar of chocolate is wrapped with the wrapping paper several times over. The participants stand in a circle around the wrapped chocolate bar. Every participant rolls the die and the person with the highest roll starts the game.
Gameplay
The object of the game is to eat the whole chocolate bar. There is no real winner, however it can be played so that whoever takes the last bite of the chocolate bar wins.
Each person in turn rolls the die. If a person rolls a six, they shout "SIX!" and hurry into the centre of the circle, put on all the items of clothing and then attempt to unwrap (and then eat) the chocolate bar using the knife and fork. This is quite akward with all the added clothing, and gloves, and cutlery, so is quite a challenge and amusing. Meanwhile, the die continues around the rest of the circle where the remaining players (hungry for an attempt to eat the chocolate) try to roll a six. The player who has rolled a six can only eat one chocolate square at a time which they therefore has to cut up with the cutlery piece by piece. The player has to finish eating each piece before the next.
As the die continues around the circle, if another player rolls a six they shout "SIX!" and the player in the centre has to stop immediately and take off the game clothing to transfer to his successor who then attempts to eat the chocolate piece by piece until the next player rolls a six.
The game is a lot of fun and usually everyone gets a chance to eat some of the chocolate.
